POSITION: OPERATIONS LEAD

Arendal Sound — Arendal, Norway (preferred)

The World We Are Building

Imagine a company where world-class sound is matched by world-class execution.

Where customers feel precision in every interaction.
Where growth does not create chaos.
Where systems create freedom.
Where operational excellence protects the brand as much as the product, and customer experience.

That is what we are building at Arendal Sound.

We design and sell premium loudspeakers directly to customers worldwide.

Our ambition is simple: deliver extraordinary sound and an exceptional customer experience without compromise.

To scale this properly, we are now strengthening the operational foundation of the company.

The Team and Mission

You will work closely with the CEO and collaborate across Product, Marketing, Customer Experience, and external partners to design and run the operational system that powers the company.

Your mission is clear:

Build and own the operational system that allows Arendal Sound to scale with clarity, discipline, and reliability.

This role exists to remove operational friction, strengthen cross-team execution, and ensure the company grows without increasing complexity.

You will not simply manage operations.
You will architect how the company runs and convert the founder’s vision into operational scale.

Culture and Work Ethos

We work with speed and intensity because details matter.
We build systems, not excuses.
We expect mature people who take full ownership and make the company stronger every week.

Continue Only If This Resonates

Continue ONLY if this role feels like a responsibility you want to take on.

This role is for someone who:

  • Sees operational complexity and wants to build structure
  • Enjoys solving cross-team challenges
  • Takes ownership without waiting for direction
  • Wants to build systems that make a company stronger over time

If you prefer narrowly defined tasks and highly structured environments, this role will likely NOT be a good fit.

Role Title

Operations Lead

Role Summary

The Operations Lead designs, owns, and continuously improves the operational system that powers Arendal Sound.

The role owns the operational backbone of the company spanning logistics, supply chain strategy, purchasing, manufacturing, operational systems, and cross-company execution.

Success in this role means building a clear operational structure that reduces friction, improves accountability, and allows the company to scale while obsessively protecting the customer experience.

Mission Alignment

As Arendal Sound grows, we are strengthening the operational structure that will allow the company to scale with clarity and discipline.

This role is central to designing and owning that structure.

Your mandate is to build systems, decision structures, and operational visibility that allow the company to run smoothly with less operational dependency on the founder and stronger ownership and accountability across the organization.

What You Will Do

You will love this role if you enjoy:

  • Designing and improving operational systems that make execution predictable and scalable
  • Owning logistics and supply chain execution across partners and warehouses
  • Creating operational clarity through metrics, reporting, and decision frameworks
  • Solving root-cause operational issues rather than repeatedly fixing symptoms
  • Building structure that allows teams to execute with less friction
  • Improving processes across departments to support growth and efficiency

What Success Looks Like

After 6–12 months in the role:

  • Operational decisions are resolved without CEO escalation in the majority of cases
  • The company runs with clear operational rhythms, metrics, and visibility
  • Recurring operational problems are eliminated through root cause solutions
  • Cross-team execution becomes smoother with clear ownership and accountability
  • Customer Experience is no longer pulled into operational troubleshooting

Candidate Attributes

You are likely someone who:

  • Takes full ownership of outcomes, not just tasks
  • Thinks in systems and quickly sees structural improvements
  • Stays calm and clear when pressure increases
  • Makes decisions with confidence and accountability
  • Communicates clearly and directly
  • Dislikes recurring operational problems and fixes them permanently
  • Earns trust through reliability and consistency
  • Values craftsmanship, precision, and long-term quality
  • Relentless for progress and results

You care about building durable systems that make a company stronger over time.

Background That Tends to Succeed in This Role

We are not looking for a specific industry background.

Experience that tends to translate well includes:

  • Operations leadership in a growing company
  • Supply chain or logistics ownership
  • Manufacturing or product-based businesses
  • Process design and operational system building
  • Scaling companies from founder-led operations to structured execution

Location

We strongly prefer candidates located in or near Arendal, Norway, as this role benefits from close collaboration with the CEO and team at our headquarters.

The position supports a flexible balance between time at HQ and remote work (within Scandinavia or Europe), depending on the needs of the role and the projects at hand.

Exceptional candidates based elsewhere in Europe may also be considered.

This Role Is Not For You If

  • You prefer clearly defined tasks rather than building operational systems
  • You require constant direction from leadership
  • You avoid making decisions with company-wide impact
  • You enjoy maintaining processes more than improving them
