I was thinking about the 1961 but I wanted high gloss white which was not available there or no longer available. I plan to buy 1723 heights in the distant future, but for the ceiling. For the lower level, just to the side, I would have had to mount the heights higher up, which I would not have liked.

As for the power amp, I have to say that unfortunately I could not compare with my old AV receiver and have now heard the power amp only on the Denon. It is my first power amplifier and can therefore not say much about it in comparison. The comparison Yamaha to Denon is but already enormous I find. For movies, you really have to reach for the Denon. But I like what comes out of the iota!

I have for my current still 7.1 setup of the 1723 series now a Denon AVC X8500HA and an IOTA AVXP7 treated. Compared to the Yamaha rxa3050 before, I must say that it was worth it! The Denon alone makes with its decoding already a lot of sound better, at least with movies!

Well it was the right decision. I also treated myself to an upgrade of the amplifiers at the same time. Now I run everything with the Denon AVC X8500HA and an IOTA AVXP7. It’s incredible what is possible in a small space with the great 1723 series!

I find high gloss just much nicer! Have had the monitor in white matte there, but I found them not well painted, looked like just filled, without varnishing. Black matte I would test for a cinema bunker probably times, because there everything must be dark. For bright living space is high-gloss white just perfect.

I have now decided for the 1723 Surrounds, I want to have it uniform in the back. The left seat will have to cope with it!

I am very satisfied with the Yamaha, it holds the whole system without problems. But I can not say anything about specific sound measurements now.

Would the 1723 Height S also be suitable for this?

yes, one seat is basically right against the wall, so the speaker would be right at the head in the relax position of the seat.
