Good question.
For me, I like things “nicely loud”, but not reference level. Using only a simple iPhone app, I’d say I don’t push my system beyond peaks of maybe 90db (approx).
Too quiet, and I don’t feel enveloped in the content.
Too loud, and I feel I’m more focused on the volume than the content.
Bear in mind that I have a tiny room. ;-)
