I tend to use around -25 – -15 MV both for music and movies.
I ve worked so many discos that I now really ammconcerned about hearing health..

BUT, my two cents is that if you have high quality soeakers like AS, the quality of the sound triumps the extra spl…

Ozwald: i’ve heard the b&w db line exept for the newest db4.

They are all great, and perform both

massively and are very musical.

but in terms of bass, there are some benefits of the arendal design, which is bigger and better drivers, bigger cabinets and a more refined amp. it will produce more spl down loW, and also just as much control and musicality.

design wise they are not that much different but i hate the big frames on the b&w sub😀

i base my opinion on the legacy sub 2, which the new  2s are superior to..!

Hi Neil!
I would try to level match sub/monitor around crossover,  if you have an spl meter.. if not i’d simply use my ears..i would probably add a little more level at the sub, since it have way more headroom.

I would not be shy of trying 100-120 for crossover if you use the monitors sealed!

ps: how do you like the sound with NAD/AS ..?!

Hi!
what other quipment are you using with the monitors and sub..?

with my 1961 setup, I actually moved the xover a tad up, i think its 110 or 120..  it gives extreme spl and the two 1961 s subs just delivers both low end and articulates upper bass!

Thanks guys.

I ve used a behringer dsp with calibrated mic displaying some dumps and humps from 1000hz and up..

I limited the eq from ca 1000hz and up, and deq enabled , i have full graveyard shift weekend so limit time this weeekend for listening, but the 20 mins I got yesterday was very promising!Natural top end and massive bottom with lots of nuances!

cant believe i havent tried this combo before…🤣🤣
