I have the Cinema 40 and have an Emotiva for my front three channels. I didn’t really notice that much of a difference but I really didn’t listen to the 40 that much before adding the amp I have the 1723S towers and 1723s center.

The Minolith 3 channel amp is on back order in my area until December. I just bought an Emotiva xpa to drive my 1723s towers and 1723s center. I have the ports plugged and an SVS ultra sub. Crossover set at 60. How do you like your Cinema 50. I have the 40 being delivered tomorrow?

Thanks for the info. What do you mean by keeping the sub open?

My sub is against the back wall.

I have the 1723S towers as well with an SVS SB 16 Ultra subwoofer. I have the speakers set to small and crossed over at 60. I find that the sub doesn’t seem to add much to music listening but for movies it is great. Currently I have one port plugged. Like you, I am looking for any advice or pointers. The Audioholics review does have a lot of info (most above my head). I may try setting them to large and see how they sound. Either way the 1723 S are great speakers.

I am currently pushing 1723 towers and center with an old Yamaha RX-V2700 receiver. Speakers sound great. If I add an Emotiva XPA  gen3 3 channel Amp will there be a noticeable improvement?  Just trying to get some input from someone that has done something similar. Hate to spend the money and be disappointed. Thanks
