@Kurt – I am using a Class A Sugden IA-4 amplifier with SACD 30n as a source. And it sounds glorious. The 1723 Monitors are sealed and I am using a 1723 2S sub for the low end.

I suppose alcohol will help you distress, if it;s just one drink.
But as all things that affect the dopamine system, in time you will not be able to enjoy it as much.
I am listening alone, too. And funny you mentioned it, my wife is going out meeting her friends today and the first thing in my mind was I can listen to the CDs I bought yesterday.

I use Spotify for non-critical listening and Apple music from the Ipad via the USB out or CDs for more serious sessions. Heos does not support Qobuz, except via Airplay, unfortunately.
Usually around 60dBs, but when I listen to electronic music I can’t help myself and it goes at about 95dBs. I am still amazed how loud a 33w into 8ohms amplifier class A amplifier can get. 95dBs would be at around 10 o’clock on the volume potentiometer.

regarding the room, definitely not in full control of it. But we’re renting so nothing I can do about it.

I only pusher mine to 95ish dB, and it was pretty loud.

I ordered 2 1723 monitors plus a 1723 sub 2s from the outlet.
the sub was as brand new condition and so was one of the monitors. The other one had a bit of discolouration, not really noticeable if you don’t know it’s there. But it was marked by 2 small stickers, so I can see it. I already forgot about it untill I’ve read this.
I am extremely happy with them, plus I had 400 discount.

I found rhythm&sound, in general, have the most powerful bass. It makes my furniture tremble at even 9 o’clock volume with a 33w amplifier. Try it if you like.
