Hello from new community member and please share your musical journey

Hello to the Arendal community!  Just ordered the 1723 Tower S Speakers for my 2 channel listening room setup after trials with other towers, online research and recommendations from Lukas.  Love talking and reading about all things music including equipment while listening to music.  It’s a great hobby especially after a long day at work during the long winter months in the Boston area.  Would love to read what your musical journey has been that brought you to joining the community.  What’s your setup?  What equipment have you tried and didn’t like or upgraded from?  What’s been your experience with Arendal?  Looking forward to hearing from you! Thanks

My wife had a similar request @Arkmann… so we have a Sonos Arc and sub in the family room.  It works better than anticipated…

Hi Arkmann,

I am curious to know what your impressions are of the 1723 towers vs the 1723 S towers?  I am eventually planning on purchasing a full set of 1723 S speakers and am curious to hear your impressions on how much better/different the 1723 towers sound.

I have a mix of various lower end speakers currently which I haven’t hooked up since we moved into a new home and currently don’t have a dedicated listening/movie space.  Am hoping to convert our upstairs loft area (currently our son’s playroom) into a theater room at some point.  Acoustic Research towers and side surrounds, Boston Acoustics center channel, SVS elevation rear surrounds and subwoofer.  I also have some DIY base shakers (tactile transducers) that I had installed in a couch at one point when I lived in an apartment.  I was initially planning on upgrading to a full SVS Ultra speaker system as I’ve been impressed with their subs until I came across the Arendal line which seems to be even better quality for around the same price  point.

Chad I tried the SVS Prime Pinnacles in my listening room and both Arendal towers sounded better listening to music in a 2 channel setup.  Didn’t get the Ultras because my speakers are each in a corner and the side firing woofers on the Ultras don’t sound as good in a corner according to SVS.  The 1723 towers had better dynamics, a wider sound stage and more bass compared to the 1723S towers.  Don’t use for watching TV or movies so unfortunately can’t give you any feedback on home theater.  The great thing about Arendal is you can try risk-free for 60 days to make sure they sound right in your room.  Let me know what you decide to do.  The journey continues!

Agree surprising how good they they sound and fill the room without being too much.  Great sound technology.
