Please bring back the 1723 stands

I really wish Arendal would bring back the 1723 monitor stands. Not many companies offer stands that are made for their large monitor speakers .. actually after Arendal the only other company I know of is Triad Speakers for their Gold in room LCR. It makes for such a cleaner look. It really was a shame when they discontinued them. Buying them used would be an option if I was in the EU. Still sad about missing out of them.

I contemplated making my own stands, but I am just not that skilled to pull it off enough and look classy. If you put the monitors on stands of rights height you don’t need tilt. I was going to buy monitors and put them on my subs, but decided against that as it limits some flexibility. Finally decided to just get the towers.

IMO the tilt must have an effect on the tweeter midrange timing / phase, although Arendal have never acknowledged this

Correct, becasue of the height of the tweeter you need to tilt it above MLP ear level, which is what the Towers and Monitor stands do. It you get a third part stand or build one that places the tweeter axis at or above MLP ear level then no tilt is needed. If I recall that is a 24-28 inch stand in the US. Similar reason as to why other speakers have plinths at the base that slightly angles the speaker you want to be at or slightly below tweeter axis.

Hi Lukas

Is it possible, those who HAVE purchased Arendal speakers have/purchase a simple set of plans/instructions so us do-it-yourselfers could build our own from original drawings?

What would it hurt since you are no longer producing/selling them yourselves. I’m building my own audio/video room and own the 1723 Monitors and would love to build my own from your original specs.

Thank you

I doubt that would happen but would be nice if they made those plans available.

not many people were prepared to pay the asking price for the monitor stands so I fully understand why they were discontinues

even second hand no one was interested in buying the stands and I had to basically give them away with the speakers

I don’t think giving the plans only to the people who purchased Arendal speakers would work… We know the internet, once out, everyone will get it.

But that might not be a problem, I’ll ask the bosses to see what they say.

I’ll keep you posted.

Thank you Jules for giving this consideration for our community of Arendals. I never considered what you said about it basically getting all out on the net. I certainly wouldn’t, but do understand that can happen. Even purchasing the plans is ok by me and I would certainly do so, it is a fair way to do things as you have invested your own time and resources to get them out on the market. At least this way, you could recover some cost. Thank you again.
