1V has minimal output

I received the 1V yesterday. Hooked it up and the output from it is very low. Any reason why that might be? Here’s a rundown of the settings:

Subwoofer settings:

Connected via RCA 1

Reference levels: on

Input gain: 0db

Phase: 0

Parametric EQ: Off

Auto Turn On: Mode 1

Receiver settings:

Level: 0db (for reference, my old sub was set at the lowest setting (-12db)

Subwoofer mode: LFE

Low pass filter: 100 Hz

Any assistance waking the sub up is appreciated.

I’m actually up to +16 out of 20 on the app. Seems very high for the low output I’m getting.

7 bands eq in the sub off is the richt setting for an avr, audyssey xt32 has 512 filters for the sub.

I reccomended to skip the app complete and use the avr settup, then save the distance and level settings on paper or picture and test again.

when it sounds good, set it in the app the same as in the avr and save that file.

now you have the perfect standaard curve also in the app.

The app make a complete mess with the subwoofer levels, 20db or more off is insane.

No problem, let us know if it works!

So far so good! Receiver set to 0 db and the sub set to +11 seems to be the sweet spot. 😊

Great it works!

But bad its a bug in the app, i hope they fix it soon.

Arendal and other brands dont want cusomers send there subs back because of that.

I think you have a big room? its a lot of output setting for a big vented sub.

Enjoy!

It’s actually not a very big room. Could be placement causing some of the issues but I’m limited on where I can place a sub this size.

Hi Steven,

If you have to set the Master Volume to +7dB, the input gain is too low and you should set it to +6dB.
Also, the AVR should have the Low Pass Filter set to 120Hz.
LPF Bypass on the Subwoofer to ON.

Did you try different placements of the subwoofer? You could have it in a position where you are experiencing cancellation in some areas.

Hello Lukas,

I’ll increase the LPF on the receiver to 120 Hz. I have the LPF bypass on on the sub. I’ll have to check the gain and make sure it’s set to +6.

For placement, I have the sub located in the same spot as my old one (I’ve tried to attach a photo). I could put it completely into the corner if needed. I also was experimenting with phase and 40 seems to provide the best blending.

Hi Steven,

Placement will have the biggest impact on sound so it makes sense to experiment.
The phase you can leave at 0 on the subwoofer. Audyssey is adjusting the phase/delay automatically and 90% of the time it is spot on. You can of course experiment with it on the AVR side by setting different distances and measuring with a program like REW.
