Current movies with great sound

Hey guys,

I kind of feel there are not so many new movies released with better than average sound.
Most of them are okay but lack, especially dynamics.
They sound like they were mastered for your TV and soundbar and not for a great home-cinema experience.
Basically all Marvel/Disney movies fall into that category.

What current releases stood out to you?

My last two were:

Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2021
A nice and mellow family film with great sound design. A typical Sunday afternoon movie.

Last Night in Soho 2021
A very dynamic soundtrack, sometimes even too dynamic. Nothing for people living in apartments:)
The movie was okay, nothing extraordinary.

I cant wait for Top Gun: Maverick to come on disc as I saw it in a very bad and old cinema, but still looked/sounded great there

Some believe the Marvel movies to not be very dynamic.  Disney seems, for whatever reason, to press these movies with a lower, 10-12db, output compared to other movie studios.  While other movies, from different movie studios, at the same volume levels in our respective home theaters are higher, I simply just turn the volume up approx~10db for the Marvel movies  and the volume dynamics are again quite good.  Thus not sounding like they are made for soundbar systems.

Hey Laurence. You are right, the movies are 10db lower in output, but even then, dynamics are very limited.

Big monsters are not much louder than normal sound effects or even speech. Most of them feel like they are held back.
