You could absolutely mount 1723 Surround (S), or 1961 Bookshelf to the sides.
Or are you concerned with the one sitting to close to the speaker?

yes, one seat is basically right against the wall, so the speaker would be right at the head in the relax position of the seat.
You will never get is perfect with a couch placement like this, so compromises have to be made.
But you can mount the speakers above head level and you will be fine.
Would the 1723 Height S also be suitable for this?
The 1723 Height S would absolutely make sense when mounted a little over head like in this situation.
I have now decided for the 1723 Surrounds, I want to have it uniform in the back. The left seat will have to cope with it!

Well it was the right decision. I also treated myself to an upgrade of the amplifiers at the same time. Now I run everything with the Denon AVC X8500HA and an IOTA AVXP7. It’s incredible what is possible in a small space with the great 1723 series!
