Speaker Toe In Angle

Hello,

The handbook states what is listed below. I have set my towers in the traditional triangle as instructed. For the toe in angle, where should the speakers be aimed? Currently I have them aimed at the center of the 4 position 1 row of seats. Should I aim the towers outward a bit to cover all 4 seats? If so, what is the recommendation?

Thanks

“In the case of Home Theatre use, we recommend the traditional equilateral triangle between you and the speakers, with them as far apart as you are from each loudspeaker. For stereo listening, we recommend you experiment, but rather that the 60deg angle of Home Theater, we feel a greater soundstage depth and focus is achieved with the front stereo pair closer to 45deg apart. This closer spacing does tend to serve the central listening position better, but as stereo listening tends to be a more individual.”

Thanks for the response. The topic seems to be discussing toe in for 2 channel listening. My setup is 7.2.6. What is the recommended tower toe in for surround systems?

The picture shown in the document shows how to lay this out which I think is helpful.

So aim the towers to the far outside seating positions to improve the center imaging.

Do you aim it to the center of the outside seating position or towards the outside or inside of that position?

Just want to properly aim these for the best response for the speakers characteristics.

I don’t think it matters that much. I think center of the outside seating is fine :-)

However, that will result in a very gentle roll-off of the very highest frequencies and it should be balanced against the evil of early side-wall reflections. But feel free to experiment with this as it is also a matter of personal touch and what you prefer in your listening room.

For some reason this reply is not in the thread. Or maybe I am doing something wrong. Either way its good info. My setup is not 2 channel listening, its full atmos surround. I watch mostly movies but like to listen to music too. I really like the new Atmos mixed music. I currently have the tower speakers set in the triangle as mentioned above. Should I keep that position or is the a hybrid position that will would be better for music and movies in surround format.

All rooms are different so i suggest to try different places with music/movies. Tape to floor old place and test new ones!

You have any acoustic treatment and can you show pictures of your room?
