Best Subwoofer Crossover Frequency

Just wandering, what subwoofer crossover frequency is everyone using with the 1723 Monitors when they are in the “plugged” configuration? I’m using an SVS SB-13 Ultra and found 80hz was optimal, otherwise if the sub was set below that frequency, it became directional.

I don’t have an Arendal sub but all the reviews are great and if it’s anything like their other speakers, you can go wrong.

I agree, each room may be different, everyone should experiment.

With 1723 monitors running vented and 1723 sub 1V I found the best results when setting the crossover at 80 hz.

As being said it mainly depends on the room size/shape, usa a mic/software to find the best crossover value for your room.

Doesn’t the 80hz depend on whether the ports are opened or closed?

Roman, it doesn’t have any effect in if you have ported or sealed. Thats a personal preference. 80Hz is the THX standard but some argue that thats not the case depending on room size or positioning of the sub(s).
