Good stuff to listen to đŸŽ”

Hey guys, right now I am listening to Rammstein’s new album called “Zeit” on my 1723 S speakers (sounds great â˜ș).

From a “song-perspective” it unfortunately is a mediocre album, but from a production standpoint it is quite interesting.

While not super-audiophile in nature, they used 3D-Sound as mentioned in Apple Music’s album description.

Flake’s synth sounds really seem to come from behind or appear directly in your ear, also the guitar sound is PHat.

Songs I can recommend are:

1. Angst

2. Zick Zack

3. Armee der Tristen

4. Meine TrÀnen

5. Giftig

Do you guys have any opinion on Rammstein’s new album?

Yes Arkmann, that is some great music. Definitely from my era. Steve Wilson has some great music from his band Porcupine Tree as well. So much great music, yet not enough years to hear it all.

Neil you’ve got that right.  So much music and so little time to listen.  I try to balance listening to new music with my go to favorites.  Love all the Rock Candy Funk Party albums on Qobuz and classic rock like To Cry You A Song on the Benefit album by Jethro Tull.

Hi Guys,

Just asking out of curiosity, which one do you prefer, Tidal or Qobuz? Is anyone going with Spotify?

Tested this a couple of years back and I felt Qobuz was the best one, but how is this now in your opinion?

Qobus was not so good platform to use, so I drifted over to Tidal and chose this as my primary listening platform.

I prefer Qobuz.  Tried Tidal and thought the sound quality and selection were comparable but Qobuz is about half the monthly charge.  I also have Spotify but plan on dropping when my subscription is up. I Don’t need more than one streaming service.  Find Qobuz is the best combination of sound quality, selection, app and price.

Thank you for sharing Arkman!

I noticed that Qobuz wasn’t offering a compelling selection of new tracks based on my listening history. In comparison, Spotify was much more effective in this regard.

However, I’ve recently observed a significant improvement in Tidal’s recommendations over the past two years, making it a more satisfying experience for discovering new music.

Yes, price is also a factor here, maybe I should try out Qobuz again. :)

Anyone else with some input on this matter? :)

I find that Qobuz does a good job of sharing new content.  Both with “new releases” on the homepage and through their monthly email.

Amazon Music! I pay $16.99 for the family plan, which means up to 5 people can use the service at the same time playing different streams. The music is available in the same Hi-Res as all the other services. Well over 100 million songs. Plays in High Res through HEOS built in to my Marantz from my Ipad or Iphone to my 1723 S Towers. The two Echo Studios and sub in the dining room play in high res Atmos. It’s hands free to play playlists. I can tell it to play a genre of music, and if I hear a song I like, I can tell it to add that song to a particular playlist. Did I mention it’s hands free??? Even in the car it’s hands free using the App. And I can open and close the garage door and turn on the security system when I leave with the app!  I have some playlists that are 15 hours long. I’m in the US and I don’t think Amazon Music is available everywhere so that’s one negative I guess, but I have 25 or so Echo devices on 3 floors and can have the same song playing everywhere in the house at the same time, even outside in the garage and under the pergola while we sip a cocktail. It’s friggin amazing to walk around the house and be bathed in music.  I’m deep in the Amazon eco system. The ring doorbells even let me know when a package is detected on the front porch. Now I know there’s some paranoia out there how supposedly Amazon is spying on us. They don’t, and even if they actually did, frankly, none of us are interesting enough to actually spy on. If Jeff Bezos is at home keeping track of what music I’m listening to or how I control lights and security systems, well I feel bad for him. One of the main things is I know Amazon sure isn’t going out of business in my lifetime, unlike some other steaming services. One day, one of the other services just won’t be in business anymore. It’s just the way the world works now.  In short, the Amazon service is vastly superior to anything else out there IMHO. It’s a Swiss Army knife compared to the butter knife offered by everybody else.

Michael thanks for your thoughts on Amazon.  I tried both Amazon and Amazon HD.  I still have Amazon because it’s free with my prime account.  I Find it doesn’t work well with my Bluesound and Sonos apps which is what I stream through.  Tried customer service but there is no one you can talk to or chat with just links through their website or app.  Amazon was the best deal financially but too difficult to use as my go to service in my experience.

@Arkmann if you have your PC or Mac hooked to your receiver or surround-sound receiver try the Amazon Music desktop app. It’s bitstream through the HDMI to the receiver, and comes through Hi-Res as well

Michael thanks for the recommendation but I don’t use a PC or laptop.  Stream through my iPad or iPhone at home and when I’m mobile in my car or boat or linked to a Bluetooth speaker outdoors.
