Michael: last Fall (in the September timeframe) Arendal announced they were going to discontinue producing the gloss finishes and would only be selling what they had left in stock or those which ended up in the Outlet.  Apparently that did not go over well with some customers (myself included), and while possibly in the minority, Arendal to their credit listened.  So just recently I found out that this previous decision has been reversed and gloss finishes will once again be put back into production.  It may be a while, however, before some products are available in that finish.  The 1723 towers, for example, show an estimated availability of March 2024 for white gloss.  Still, it’s good news for those customers (existing and new) who prefer gloss, and I for one applaud Arendal for deciding to continue offering this finish in their line up.

Thanks for the information, and that’s good to hear.

The quality of Arendal sets them apart, and I think the high gloss white does as well. Almost every manufacturer in the world makes a black speaker, but it’s a pretty short list of people who make a gloss white. Of course, I mean no offense to people who love a black speaker.

I think the gloss finish is better looking and I got my surrounds with that finish, but satin is more usefull with less reflections so I got a satin sub under the screen. I think it’s a right choice to produce both.

I thought I was only one of a very few who liked glossy white speakers. So glad there are others as well. It is a preference. In a sea of black speakers, it’s nice to have the gloss option.
