What receivers/amplifiers do you use to drive you Arendal setups?

I’m curious, What receiver/preamp/source and/or amplifiers do you use with your Arendal speakers? Have you tested brands that worked better than others? I’m curious to know what you guys are using!

I’m using a Yamaha RX-A2060 to power a pair of 1961 Monitors and a 1723 Sub 1v and it sounds great! I might add a dedicated amplifier down the line if I get something bigger, but I definitely don’t feel like I’m missing much with my current setup.

Kristoffer, I put this elsewhere but may be helpful to you.

“I wanted to pass on this information as it may be of help to anyone looking to replace their integrated amplifier. Recently, I purchased a Hegel H190 (class A/B) in a search to improve my already good sounding NAD C-370 (so I thought) albeit an old integrated amplifier. I tried a Marantz Model 30 and did not like how the class D sounded at all, just my preference.  I wont go overboard on details, but all my research gave me a good sneaking suspicion the Hegel H190 would be a good match for the Arendals. It is an incredible match for these great speakers from the low frequency all the way to the very top. No tizzy sounds from the tweeters, exceptional bass control of the woofers. Very detailed sound. A very neutral integrated amp that doesn’t emphasis anything, meaning natural sounding without adding any coloration. They have also been on sale lately this helped my decision as well. Purchased mine from Safeandsoundhq.com, great people to deal with. Stangely enough, it took about twenty minutes of initial playing for the bass frequency to come into full play. Never believed to the extreme this was important but now I know some equipment has a break in period. If you prefer an integrated and one that gets out of the way of the music and lets the music play as pretty much recorded, then you will probably love this amp. If you prefer a amp that places emphasis on  musical information that may not really be in the recording (exaggerated base, bright highs, stand out midrange) then you may look elsewhere. If anyone wants any detailed information let me know and I will be glad to help with questions”

I’m running 1723 Monitors for LCR and 1961 Monitors for front wides.
Anthem AVM70 and Monolith 5x and 8250x for amplification, sounds phenomenal.

Those Monolith amps seem really great for the money. Sucks that they are not available in Germany where I live.

Hello Neil,

That’s very valuable insight, thank you for sharing! I don’t have much personal experience with Hegel, but it seems like the majority of Hegel owners are very happy with their products.

Some amps need to reach a certain temperature before performing their best, maybe that’s the case with your Hegel?

Hi Kristoffer
You are correct. Hegel themselves says their amp sounds better after about 15 minutes of warm up. That’s okay by me, gives me time to prepare a drink. I can’t really say since the first time it has made a difference. The initial break in seemed to be the only time I saw an improvement. The Hegel and Arendals play well together, couldn’t be happier. Money well spent.

That’s great to hear that you’re satisfied with your purchase! Hegel definitely produces amps that are to be reckoned with, and I’m glad they work well in your setup! Thanks again for the details and updates. It’s greatly appreciated!

@Bjørn
How do you like the Sonos Amp? I sold a lot of it at my old job and I really like it. It is plenty powerful, daily use is seamless, and it also has a subwoofer out with built-in crossover. Great package.
