HOW IS YOUR ROOM SET UP?

Living room size approximately 13′ x 20′ in an open floor plan. Small sectional couch with 2 seats within the sweet spot. 5.1 home theater set up with 1723s Bookshelves, 1723s Center, 1961 Bookshelves surrounds, and dual 1723 1V subs.

My setup is mostly used for TV and movies.

WHAT WAS YOUR GOAL WHEN LOOKING FOR NEW SPEAKERS AND SUBWOOFERS?

The 1723s bookshelves and Center checked all my boxes. Sealed design so I could place them in the bookshelves without too many issues. The center had to be wall-mounted, the output and sound quality had to be on par or outclass my old floor-stand setup in a smaller package. The surround also needed a small form factor and the ability to be wall-mounted. The subs had to look fantastic in a living room setting and pass the WAF.

WHERE DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US?

I believe I first saw them on VillaMan’s channel, I was immediately intrigued. Also, when I was searching for a center channel that could be wall-mounted, I saw on a forum that the 1961s and 1723s could be wall-mounted.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ARENDAL SOUND?

They just fit my space perfectly, aesthetically, and could provide the clean high output that I wanted in a home theater setup.

I was considering the SVS Ultra Evolution bookshelves, center and nano for surrounds, but they did not have matching white subs. Also, the center lacked the ability to be wall-mounted, and the bookshelves were ported, and that usually poses more of an issue in bookshelves than a sealed design. All these things would have given me many hurdles to get a system to sound as good as it looked. I looked at other on-wall type speakers, and none of them had the specs and output I was looking for. Arendal basically checked every box I was looking for to build my system for my specific needs.

YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCTS?

The sound and build quality is amazing. The sound stage feels large and having a great sense of height. Also, there is a great level of clarity and detail. Plus being able to crank the volume without distortion is a huge win for me. So far, the only negative is I’m still patiently waiting for one of my subs to get fixed. It seemed to have had a faulty amp that lasted for about a week.

When I got my first 1723 1v sub. I didn’t realize the vent was plugged. I was very impressed with the output and the cleanliness of the bass. I had it in the sealed mode for about a week before I found the vent to be plugged. I unplugged the vent and changed the EQ to vented EQ1, and holy geez that thing came to life! It felt like my whole house was shaking!

WHAT ELSE DOES YOUR SYSTEM CONSIST OF?

HOW HAPPY ARE YOU WITH ARENDAL SOUND PRODUCTS?

The amount of immersion I’m getting just from a 5.2 system blows my mind. The sound is so clean, and object panning from the 1961 surrounds to the front stage seamlessly. This system also looks incredible as it sounds, and I’m overall very proud of this system.

ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SHARE?

One of the greatest “aha” moments so far is during the Yoda and Count Dooku fight scene in Star Wars Episode 2, when Count Dooku is using the Force, bringing down the pillar onto Obi-Wan and Anakin.

The sounds that was coming from the 1961 bookshelf surrounds were so detailed and somehow projecting sound that sounded so much higher than I was expecting, almost Atmos-like. The ceiling was cracking on screen, and it sounded like it was coming from my ceiling, that’s awesome.
