Layout:
Dedicated home theater room with a single row of five dedicated theater seats facing a 110-inch projection screen. The room is configured as a 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos system with dual subwoofers and Dirac Live room correction. The front stage consists of Arendal 1723 THX speakers powered by an Emotiva BasX A3 amplifier.

Listening Position:
The primary listening position (Main Listening Position) is the center seat of the five-seat row. The system is optimized around this seat while maintaining good performance across the remaining seats. Rear surrounds are mounted approximately 8–10 feet behind the seating, front heights are mounted high on the front wall, and top middle Atmos speakers are installed in the ceiling.
Primary Use:
Approximately 90% movies / 10% music. The system is designed and calibrated primarily for immersive home theater performance with Dolby Atmos and high-impact movie playback, while also providing excellent multichannel and two-channel music reproduction.
My primary goal was to build a balanced, high-performance home theater that delivers an immersive experience for movies while maintaining excellent musical performance. Rather than simply purchasing the most expensive equipment, I focused on maximizing performance and value, choosing components that complement each other and can grow with the system over time.

After researching numerous speaker manufacturers and reading extensive professional and user reviews, I chose Arendal Sound because they consistently offered the combination of performance, engineering, and value I was looking for.

My experience with the Arendal speakers has exceeded my expectations. The first thing that stood out was the exceptional build quality—they feel incredibly solid and well engineered, with a premium fit and finish that immediately inspires confidence. Sonically, the 1723 Monitor THX and 1723 Center S THX deliver outstanding clarity, effortless dynamics, and excellent dialog intelligibility, even during demanding movie scenes. Compared to my previous speakers, the Arendals produce a much larger and more immersive soundstage while maintaining excellent detail without ever sounding harsh or fatiguing. They have become the foundation of my home theater, and after living with them, I understand why they have earned such a strong reputation among home theater enthusiasts.
What surprised me the most was how effortless and composed the speakers remained, even at higher listening levels. Large sound stage.
My previous front stage consisted of ELAC speakers. While they were an excellent value for the price and performed well, I was looking for cleaner dialog, a much larger soundstage, and greater dynamic performance. The Arendal speakers delivered exactly that. They provide exceptional clarity, especially with dialog, and create a much more immersive and expansive soundstage.
I couldn’t be happier with my Arendal Sound speakers. They have exceeded my expectations in every area, from build quality and design to sound quality and overall performance.
My Arendal speakers were one of the best decisions I’ve made for my home theater. They have completely transformed the way I experience movies, delivering a level of clarity, dynamics, and immersion that I didn’t think was possible in my room. Every time I sit down to watch a movie, I’m reminded why I chose them. I wouldn’t hesitate to choose Arendal all over again.
Although TRON: Legacy isn’t one of my favorite movies, it became one of my favorite demo experiences. The audio and visuals were absolutely stunning, with incredible dynamics, crystal-clear detail, and an immersive Atmos soundtrack that made full use of my system. The surround effects and overhead audio created an expansive soundstage that truly showcased what my home theater is capable of.
