WHAT WAS YOUR GOAL WHEN LOOKING FOR NEW SPEAKERS AND SUBWOOFERS?
My main goal was to upgrade the bass performance in my system. My previous subwoofers lacked clarity and definition, so I wanted something more precise and powerful.
I was also curious whether Arendal’s speakers could elevate my front stage for both movies and stereo listening.
Subwoofer upgrade became my top priority, and I ended up ordering 2 units of 1723 1V subs, followed by 1723 S series front stage.

I’ve known about Arendal for several years and followed the brand closely before deciding to make my first purchase.
I liked that Arendal is a smaller, boutique company focused on quality, engineering, and design rather than mass production. The minimalist look fit perfectly into my living room, and the tuning flexibility of the subwoofers gave me confidence they would work well in my challenging room layout.
YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCTS?
The upgrade started with two 1723 1V subwoofers, chosen because my living room has uneven ceiling height, open spaces, and stairs — so I needed subs that offer tuning options. Being able to switch between vented and sealed modes was a huge advantage. The moment I set them up, the improvement was dramatic: tight, clean bass with real tonal detail instead of just low-frequency rumble.
After that success, I upgraded my front stage to 1723 S Bookshelfs and the 1723 S Center. They immediately brought more detail, clarity, and precision to movies and music. I chose bookshelf speakers because of limited placement options near the stairs, and the flexibility has been invaluable.
WHAT ELSE DOES YOUR SYSTEM CONSIST OF?
My system is powered by a Denon AVR-4700, with the Arendal speakers driven by an Emotiva BASX A5175 amplifier. Bass management is handled by miniDSP 2×4 HD, and my sources include a Dune HD PRO 4K PLUS II, TV apps, an SMSL PL100 CD player, and TIDAL.
How happy are you with Arendal Sound products?
