NORDIC ENGINEERING.
DONE PROPERLY.
THE HEART OF IT ALL:
WHY WE ENGINEER
“It’s about making incredible sound experiences using proven engineering principles. It guides everything we do.”
At Arendal Sound, our goal is simple: make great sound. That might sound obvious, but getting there takes discipline. We don’t chase trends or cut corners. We rely on proven engineering principles, tested by generations of audio designers, and apply them with relentless attention to detail. Our work starts with science, but it ends with emotion.
ROOM-READY DESIGN:
CONTROLLING WHAT YOU HEAR
“You don’t need a lab to enjoy our speakers. You should get great sound with minimal effort, even in a normal room.”
Speakers don’t live in perfect rooms. We design ours to thrive in real ones. At the core of this is controlled directivity: ensuring the sound radiates evenly, both on and off axis, across the full frequency range. This creates a smooth, natural sound no matter where you sit and limits the room’s influence on what you hear.
BUILT FROM
THE GROUND UP:
IN-HOUSE COMPONENTS
“When you have complete control, you can make every part work together. That’s how you build a consistent sound signature.”
We design our drivers ourselves. That means we don’t start with a compromise — we start with a clean slate. Every tweeter, cone and motor structure is built for the specific cabinet and purpose it’s intended for. That gives us a consistent sound signature across the lineup and the freedom to push performance further with new materials and technologies.
CABINET PHILOSOPHY:
STRENGTH WITH PURPOSE
“If your cabinet’s flexing, it’s adding a sound of its own. That’s not what we’re after.”
We use thick, high-density fiberboard (HDF) across our speaker range because it performs. It offers better rigidity and lower resonance than standard MDF, which helps reduce distortion and preserve dynamics. We add internal bracing not for looks, but because it works. The result is greater clarity, better transients, and a sound that stays clean even when pushed hard..
DESIGNED WITH PURPOSE:
DRIVERS, CROSSOVERS AND CHOICES
“A speaker should be able to play loud without falling apart. It’s what separates good from great.”
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach at Arendal. Every model is tailored to a specific use case. Smaller drivers and 2-way designs for compact, flexible systems. Larger drivers and multi-way crossovers where scale, power and finesse are needed. We engineer for the task at hand, not the easiest route or the flashiest spec sheet.
MUSIC VS MOVIES? YES.
“You should never have to choose between your favourite album and your favourite film.”
Some brands focus on one at the expense of the other. We don’t. A speaker that’s immersive and expressive for music should also be punchy and precise for cinema. To achieve that, we balance wide dispersion with high dynamic range. It’s not easy. It’s not cheap. But it’s worth it.
THE ARENDAL SOUND:
WHAT WE STAND FOR
“We want you to get goosebumps when you press play. Every time.”
Neutral, dynamic, and emotionally engaging. That’s what we mean when we talk about the Arendal sound. We voice every speaker with the goal of bringing recordings to life. Not background music. Not soft and sweet. We want you leaning forward, hearing things you’ve never noticed before.
BUILT TO LAST.
BACKED TO PROVE IT.
“We design with our own warranty in mind. It’s a massive part of the engineering brief.”
We don’t just build for today. With a 10-year warranty and strict component testing, our speakers are made for long-term reliability. From crossover capacitors to cabinet finishes, we choose materials that last and stress-test every design to make sure it stands up to real-world use.
INNOVATION
THAT SERVES THE SOUND
“We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel. We’re just making it roll smoother, stronger, and better.”
True innovation should serve the experience. We invest in tools like the Klippel Near Field Scanner to refine how our speakers behave in real spaces. And we embrace advanced materials, like carbon graphene and lithium magnesium, when they offer real acoustic benefits. Not because they sound fancy, but because they sound better.
THE MOMENT THAT MATTERS
“Whether it’s your first listen or your millionth, we want you to experience that feeling, that moment that stops you in your tracks.”
All of this engineering, the materials, the modelling, the measurements, is in service of one thing: that moment when sound stops being sound and becomes something more. That first note that pulls you in. That track you’ve heard a hundred times, now sounding brand new.
