My Arendal 1723 Tower S are the focal point of my living room. Dimensions of the room are 22 x 12 x 10. While I was primarily focused on using these speakers for music, because they are in my living room I have noticed they really take watching movies to the next level.
My living room is not a dedicated listening room. It is the main living space for my family of 4. Therefore, I needed something that looked nice and fit the theme and décor of the rest of my home. The satin white almost disappears with the white walls behind it. I knew I would be living with these speakers long term, so wanted something my wife would find visually appealing as well.
I sit front and center of the speakers, in an equilateral triangle.

My primary goal was to emulate the punchy bass that I would experience when seeing a DJ at a club or the kick drum from a live concert. Secondarily, with the Towers being in my living room, I wanted something that looked stunning. I love the look of the 1723s.

I heard about Arendal through YouTube reviews. Jay Iyagi did a great job of showcasing their looks. Audioholics did a YouTube video, as well as a review on their website, which went into detail on the performance and build quality.
One of the biggest reasons I chose Arendal Sound had to do with the value. The direct-to-consumer model presents a way to get speakers that punch well above their class. I was able to get something that feels and sounds high-end, without the high-end price. The other thing that attracted me to Arendal was the 10-year warranty combined with the high build quality. For me to spend $3,000 on a pair of speakers, I wanted to buy something that was going to last. I love the peace of mind that comes with a 10-year warranty. But also feel like these speakers could be the last speakers I ever really need. They could last a lifetime.
These things are tanks. They really feel like they’re built to last. The sound quality has been fantastic. And they look beautiful in my living room.
What I appreciate the most about how the 1723 Tower S sound, is the bass. I’m a big fan of the bass guitar in rock music. And the bass from these speakers has a lot of body to it, which I can feel in my chest. The Arendals fill the room with bass much better than my previous tower speakers. That helps give a more holographic sound and really helps me get grooving to the music. And losing myself in it. The clarity from the Arendals is better as well. Acoustic guitars sound like they’re right in the room with you. And the instrument separation is really great.
I was pretty surprised at how heavy the speakers are. They do not feel cheap at all. Must be heavier than the previous speakers I owned. I am also pleasantly surprised at how well Arendal has caught on since making my purchase. I feel like there has been a lot more chatter and followers on YouTube who are fans of Arendal.
I’m loving the bass that I’m getting from the Arendals so far. They really dig deep down low. But I feel like there’s another level I can still get to, with there being more attack to the bass. At some point, I’d like to experiment with some better amplifiers to get a sound that is a bit punchier. Especially with bass drum and electronic music.
We do use the Arendals for movies and gaming. And these speakers have really given me an appreciation for sound effects and soundtracks in movies and games. There was a point in my life where, when it came to those things, all I cared about was graphics and screen resolution. But these speakers have helped me understand that is only half the equation. Great sound helps bring a movie theater-like experience.
Years later, I am very happy with my 1723 Tower S purchase. They look beautiful with the grills off, as the star of the show in my living room. The build quality feels great. And I have peace of mind knowing they will last and come with a long warranty.
I am proud of my Arendal speakers. They look and sound great. And are easily my most prized material possessions. My living room looks much more impressive because of how great they look and how well they are made.
I love the sound I am getting out of my system. I bought the Arendals to be my forever speakers. And am looking forward to seeing how the sound can improve by pairing it with different / upgraded amplifiers, down the road. Ultimately, I’m searching for punchier bass and a more holographic sound.
The moments that stick out the most are at the end of the day. I mentioned earlier that my living room is not a dedicated listening room. But that all changes at night. After a long day of work, cooking, cleaning, and putting the kids to bed, my favorite way to unwind at the end of the day is to turn off the lights and listen to music on the Arendals. It helps me feel that all of my hard work is worth it, being able to listen to music that sounds so good. These moments bring me a lot of joy. I also find it easier to fall asleep after listening to music in the dark, as opposed to watching TV from a bright screen.
