HOW IS YOUR ROOM SET UP?

12′ x 17′, high ceilings. The system is dedicated to music in the living room. The area is very open.

WHAT WAS YOUR GOAL WHEN LOOKING FOR NEW SPEAKERS AND SUBWOOFERS?

Center staging separation in the music with clarity in the instruments and vocals. I like detail over a concert hall type of sound. My music varies quite a bit, and detail is what I am after.

WHERE DID YOU HEAR ABOUT US?

YouTube reviews while on holiday. It seemed everyone loved them, and with the return program, I thought I would take a chance. I am glad I did! The channels I came across included Jay’s Iyagi, Pursuit Perfection System, Erin’s Audio Corner, and Cheap Audio Man.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE ARENDAL SOUND?

The build quality is superb, and the sound with my setup blows the doors between my friends’ uber high-end gear!

YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCTS?

The build quality is sublime! They may not look like my previous Sonus Faber’s, but the sound far exceeds them for the money. The speakers I had before were the Sonus Faber Lumina II, and before those, the Sonus Faber Concertinos. I felt the Lumina II speakers lacked punch, and while the voicing was good, the soundstage lacked depth.

What surprised me most was all of it: the performance, the features, the build quality, and the overall experience. I like changing things around as I am picky. But I so happy with these speakers that I can’t imagine anything sounding better for the money. The detail and clarity really stand out. The voices are so realistic and the soundstage phenomenal. I have subs but they are ste very low as I feel the speakers do their job. Even my wife who listens to music constantly, could tell the difference. Songs that really confirmed that feeling include Scrubs by TLC, You and your friend by Dire Straits, She’s leaving home by The Beatles, Black Cow by Steely Dan, and many Classical and Progressive Rock albums (Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd, etc…)

As a musician (Bass Guitar), I was so specific about my sound and would spend hours trying to get it the way I wanted. It is the same with my hi-fi system. I spent a good two years going through amps (Cambridge Audio, Audiolab, Peachtree) and speakers (Sonus Faber, Dynaudio, Paradigm, Tannoy) to get what I was looking for without spending crazy money like many of my friends, whom I feel my sound is pretty equal (or better).
