I’ve got a dedicated home-theater room with a dark paint scheme and recessed ceiling lights, a proper cinema feel. The room is rectangular and feels roughly 16–20 ft long by 12–14 ft wide (estimate). Seating is a large, curved reclining sectional that sits centered on the long axis of the room. My listening/viewing position is in the middle of that sectional, roughly 10–14 ft from the projection screen, which puts me in a sweet spot for both imaging and bass response.
The screen is a 130” front projection screen with the UST projector positioned on the low front shelf, and my 1723 S speakers flank the screen with the 1961 subwoofer 1V near the front. A long, low AV credenza sits below the screen holding the projector, media players, and other components. I mainly use the system for movies (big-screen, immersive viewing), but I also play music from it when I want serious fidelity.

I wanted speakers that disappear, that was basically natural, had detailed presentation; tight, deep bass with low distortion; and seamless integration so vocals and instruments stay coherent across the crossover. Practical must-haves: clean measurements and headroom, solid build, and real value. I confirm with acoustic music, orchestral crescendos, and movie LFE passages.
I was after a speaker that would do movies justice (impactful, controlled bass and natural dialogue) while still being musical for two-channel listening. Before Arendal, my setup lacked low-end authority and the speakers sounded a little congested at higher volumes. Arendal promised tight, well-controlled bass, a neutral but engaging midrange, and a solid, heavy build, exactly what I felt was missing.

I first encountered Arendal Sound while researching speakers for my home-theater build, mostly through enthusiast forums and longform YouTube reviews. What caught my eye was the consistency in reviewers’ comments about their build quality, the realism of the midrange, and the unusually good bang-for-buck bass extension for sealed/ported designs. The photos and finish options on Arendal’s site also looked premium compared to similarly priced competition.
I bought Arendal because they gave me the best combination of sound and value I could find. After watching a bunch of YouTube reviews and reading AVS forum threads, the speakers kept coming up as the ones that deliver natural, detailed sound without sounding harsh. Their bass is deep and controlled; it adds impact without ever getting boomy, and the build quality felt real, not flimsy. Buying direct made the price easier to justify, and they integrate cleanly with room correction and the rest of my gear. Bottom line: they disappeared into the music and movies, which is exactly what I wanted.
Very positive. The sound is clean and fast, dialog is clear, and front-stage imaging is focused. The bass is tight and authoritative (important for explosions and movie soundtracks) without being bloated. Build quality and finishes are noticeably solid, the cabinets feel substantial, and the grilles/terminals are well-made. Setup was straightforward; the speakers settled in quickly and responded well to a little toe-in and basic room correction from my AVR. In day-to-day use, they’ve been reliabl,e and they look great in the room.
Future upgrades I’m considering: adding surround speakers, Atmos height channels, acoustic treatments behind the listening position and on first-reflection points, and possibly a second matched sub for smoother low-end in-room response.
Night and day compared to the previous setup. Movies now feel cinematic, impactful bass, clear dialogue, and immersive soundstage, and music playback is pleasantly musical and revealing. The upgrade brought more confidence in dynamic material (action scenes, orchestral passages) and made casual watching much more enjoyable. Overall, it’s rewarding to finally have a system that performs great. Technically and emotionally, it makes me want to watch more movies and listen to more high-quality music.
