Room is about 62 m2, it is a strange shape, that includes kitchen and living room, and then some.
My listening position is about 3m from speakers.
The room is both for music and TV, but the stereo systems are different for both. System for music has Arendal speakers and better components.
Arendal speakers I only use for music.
I felt my previous speakers were fatigueing. They were sharp.
I wanted more relaxed sound, immersive sound, big sound.
Clarity and detail are always goals for me, but the main factor was to have sound that would cause less fatigue.
I heard about you from YouTube. From the Canadian-Korean man, Jay. And a Serbian, iiWi.
I chose you because Jay and Serbian reviewer were over the moon about your speakers. And also – quality to cost ratio.
What a great purchase. What drove me to renew my speakers was the listening fatigue. Listening my old speakers caused fatigue and lessened pleasure. Now I am very content, I have no more listening fatigue and I am so happy to be rid of it.
Arendal speakers have calm in them. And yes, they are very clean, refined and detailed. I also have discovered more differences between sources – files and streamers. Previously with old speakers that was not clear to me of how much a sources can differ. That is now revealed to me as in, I can take benefit of better sources. The “bottleneck” has widened.
Also – music that previously was perceived very boring, almost unlistenable, now is giving me pleasure, and lets me discover it. Pop music is aggressive and forthcoming, and times again the reasons for listening to it do not lie in the music itself. You could listen to it with lesser speakers and be somewhat entertained. But with these Arendals, you can also listen to say piano, string instruments (“boring music” ;) ), something not so “entertaining and sexy” and still easily find it interesting and be drawn into the music.
Yes, the hype is real. These speakers are good. And I think many reviewers are right – they are the “jacks of many trades”, and very easy to recommend. I have previously mostly concentrated on changing electronics, but if you really want a step forward and your ready for speakers in the 3K price range, I would recommend. I have rediscovered music.
Nothing really surprised me. And that is good. Because I expected a lot 🙂
