The 1528 Series cabinets are engineered for low coloration, high rigidity, and precise time/phase behavior.
The speakers feature a laminated baffle structure consisting of multiple thin layers of HDF glued and pressed together under several tons of pressure, which gives extreme rigidity and a total lack of resonance. The total baffle thickness is 86mm or slightly about 3.4 inches.
All cabinets are made of HDF (High Density Fiberboard), for high structural integrity, lack of resonance and lastly it is easier to get perfect cutouts using CNC for better fit & finish.
We use 25mm panels for all our 1528 speakers. All of which have heavy bracing, with a vertical brace going through the entire length of the speaker, coupled with horizontal bracing to stiffen the construction further. The 1528 Tower, as an example, features 5 horizontal braces for ultimate stiffness and avoidance of resonance.
To top that off we have covered the entire inside of the speaker with 4mm thick butyl sheets, that further aid to dampen higher frequency resonances.
The translation into audio is that it improves the loudspeakers transparency, its dynamics and especially the pitch-black background in the soundstage. No lingering notes that shouldn’t be there. No muddying the bass performance. Just High-Fidelity.
The 1528 series feature two color choices, a white and a dark grey color we call Basalt.
Polar, a white satin color for the main cabinet and a white satin with added pearlescent to the front baffle that creates a shimmer that changes subtly with light and angle. The trim rings and Røst Reference acoustic core feature a metallic light grey color. With matching light grey metal grilles.
Basalt, a satin dark grey color with metallic particles in the paint that features metallic grey color for trim rings and a metallic black Røst Reference waveguide assembly. With matching black metal grilles.
